As Tropical Storm Barry continues to weaken and move north, one might think New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico are past the brunt of the damage. The Mississippi River is the second-longest in the world and drains 32 states and two Canadian provinces all past New Orleans and into the Gulf of Mexico.
