And now, it’s up to you, a visitor to Batuu, to follow this story of the Resistance, the First Order and … wait, why are the Mandalorian, Boba Fett and Grogu here too?Galaxy’s Edge, aka “Star Wars Land,” but with the introduction of newer characters, from older timelines, that’s about to change. And if that sounds confusing, let us explain.opened at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019, the themed area promised to be an immersive storytelling experience.
But Disney recently announced — at the “From a Galaxy Far, Far Away to Disney Park Near You” panel at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022 event — that main characters from the immensely popular Disney Plus series “The Book of Boba Fett” and “The Mandalorian” would begin appearing at Disneyland.
The rules of engagement across continuity are next-level strict when it comes to Star Wars. Unless characters crossed paths with one another on-screen or could conceivably do so within the same timeline, they cannot simply show up together at the parks. For example, a story could be told where Rey might see a recorded hologram of Darth Maul, but they wouldn’t be occupying the same space at Galaxy’s Edge because, spoiler alert, Maul is long dead.
