Clarence Avant, an impactful music executive, died on Sunday. He signed Rodriguez to his Sussex Records label and considered him one of the best artists he had ever worked with.
When Avant was handed a photograph of Rodriguez in the documentary, he said:"This is my man."
"I think omission is a sin. Withholding evidence is unethical, to say the least, but I'll resolve that," he said. It is estimated that Rodriguez could have sold up to 1 million records in SA, according to AP.
