char siewDespite the owner having worked at several high-end Cantonese restaurants before, the stall does not have much media coverage. After finding The Legend Roasted Meat Rice & Noodle through a personal blog post, I was all the more excited to try what they have in store.Of course, I have heard of the Bruce Lee memorabilia being hung on the walls, as this was The Legend Roasted Meat Rice and Noodle’s signature decor.
Having set expectations, I was rather dismayed that a big majority of the decor had been taken down. In comparison to the pictures featured online, there were only 2 remaining posters hung by the soup pots, which were no doubt eye-catching. Another noteworthy factor would be their customer service. Whilst a customer had gone off to buy a drink, the auntie running the stall noticed. She had reacted by placing a plate over her rice to keep any unpleasant visitors away.
Anyone coming to Hong Lim Market and Food Centre irregularly is sure to be lost. I definitely was, having been circling around the place to find both the stall and a seat. I was appalled by the abundant lunch crowd, which definitely made finding a table all the more tedious.
