The Toronto captain will play his 1,000th regular-season NFL game Sunday against the Capitals.
“He was a really good role model my first year,” Barzal says. “It’s not surprising to anyone that he’ll be playing his 1,000th. I know the way John is, he’ll probably want to play 1,000 more. The fact he’s been able to do that for as long as he has is pretty amazing, a testament to how well he looks after himself.
