The Autumn peak of coronavirus cases appears to be over as the numbers fall once again
The new figures suggest that the high rise in cases seen in August are on their way out. For the week leading up to October 14 in England as a whole, there were 12,123 cases of Covid reported according to the latest government data.
This equates to 21.4 cases for every 100,000 people, down from 28.5 cases seen a week earlier. In Lancashire, the Fylde is the area with the most cases in the week leading up to October 14, with a rate of 43.1 per 100,000 people.Following this high rate is Lancaster, with 36.5 cases per 100,000 people and South Ribble with 27. Also that way is Chorley with 22.7 per 100,000 and Wyre falling behind with 21.2.
Rossendale and Blackpool both had 21 per 100,000 and West Lancashire just 20.1. These decreasing figures show that the peak seen in August is likely over. You can see how many case of Covid there were in your local area using our interactive map.Rossendale: 21Preston: 18.7
