Property prices in one neighbourhood rose by an average of £397 a day last year

House prices across Greater Manchester rose by more than 10 per cent last year - but some parts saw faster increases than others. One neighbourhood in particular saw house prices rise by a whopping average of £397 a day.

In Hulme and around the university in Manchester, prices fell by 31.7pc to £158,500, and prices in Barton upon Irwell in Salford fell 24.2pc to £190,000. Meanwhile, the most expensive place to buy a home in Greater Manchester in 2021 remained Hale Barns in Trafford. Looking across England and Wales, Lordship Lane & Broadwater Farm in Haringey saw the biggest increase in the average house price, going from £280,000 in 2020 to £600,000 in 2021. The biggest drop was from an average of £1 million to £421,250 in Roehampton North West in Wandsworth.
