Frasier has a new drinking spot.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Frasier Crane's new hang-out pub in the Frasier revival reveals the harsh truth about his role in Cheers. After multiple delays, Kelsey Grammer's return as the high-brow psychiatrist is already set for October 2023. In light of that, Paramount+ released its first wave of promotional materials, that included marketing stills that offered the first look at Frasier's return to Boston.
Not much has been revealed about this new establishment yet. In the specific promo still, however, Frasier is seen having a beer with Alan and Olivia, the head of the university’s psychology department where both of them work, in this new place. It is safe to say that they will be regularly hanging out in this tavern.
The idea that Frasier never really fit in Cheers is supported by his time in Seattle. Once he was back home, he was able to easily shake off his Boston habits. Nights of drinking became nights in the opera or dining at the most exclusive restaurants in town. He barely drank beer, preferring wine, sherry, or port. This reinforces the thought that Frasier molded himself a different way just so he could hang out in Cheers. In the end, however, he failed.
It's also difficult to imagine that the rest of the Cheers cast will be available to make a cameo in the show, and it just isn't worth it if the bar returns, but there are no familiar faces in it. Sam and the rest of its ensemble have had their lives drastically changed since the last time they were on the screen.
