Indications are that Mweene will join the Sundowns technical team as a goalkeeper coach, after he acted in that capacity in place of experienced goalkeeper coach Wendell Robinson for a couple of matches when Robinson was suspended last season. Mweene has been his understudy.
Robinson could also be a long-term successor as a senior coach at the Tshwane giants, should Manqoba Mngqithi eventually leave the club within the next year. "When we started, roles were very specific, structured. So, I would do this as an analyst, KB was to do this as a fitness coach, the goalkeeper coach would do this, the assistant coach would do this, the head coach would do this," Matlaba said.
