The Flash featured a variety of cameos from different DC characters, and through one in particular, The Flash paid off a Superman and Supergirl tease that was 39 years in the making. As the DC Universe prepares for its official launch, the DC Extended Universe still has some titles to release, and among its most anticipated ones was The Flash.
Supergirl is the fourth entry in the Superman movie series, set after the events of Superman III, while also serving as a spin-off of the series. The Superman series began in 1978 with Superman, introducing Christopher Reeve as the title superhero, a role he played in three more movies after that. Although Supergirl is part of the universe of this version of Superman, Reeve didn’t make a proper appearance in it, but a team-up was subtly teased.
