The Flash movie director Andy Muschietti has revealed the reason behind the absence of the Arrowverse's Grant Gustin, which makes the omission worse.

The Flash movie has had a tumultuous road to finally releasing in theaters this June. The Miller-led solo film was announced in 2014, only a week after Gustin's The Flash series had premiered. While DC's movie side faltered, Gustin remained as the face of The Flash for the better part of a decade, and the movie not acknowledging that is a poor choice.
Grant Gustin's Flash Legacy Is Secure, Even Without A Movie Cameo While Gustin appearing in The Flash movie would have been a nice way of honoring all the actor has done for the character over the last decade, he does not need the movie cameo to cement his legacy as The Flash. Gustin first appeared as Barry Allen in 2013, with a two-episode arc in Arrow's season 2.
