In the latest issue of DC Comics' Flash, Wally West confirms that Flashes patrol and protect far more than just one city like Superman does with Metropolis.
In the latest issue of DC's Flash, Wally West makes a very strong case for the Fastest Man Alive taking the title of the world's greatest superhero over Superman. Spending time with the new Kid Flash, the Scarlet Speedster officially requests Wallace's help as his life continues to get busier with his family and new job.
Currently in the DC Universe, Wally West has become the current Flash on Earth while Barry Allen has been working with the Justice League Incarnate, working to explore the new multiverse formed at the dawn of Infinite Frontier. Likewise, Wallace R. West is the current Kid Flash and a member of the Teen Titans. While he and Wally haven't had much time working together just the two of them, it seems that's about to change with the new Flash #781 from Jeremy Adams and Fernando Pasarin.
While the Man of Steel is certainly capable of saving the world, Wally notes that speedsters don't have Superman's super-hearing that allows him to pinpoint threats and react accordingly. The Flash is so fast that by patrolling the globe he can often get to crises right as they're happening just by rapidly covering so much ground.
At any rate, it makes sense that Wally is officially requesting Kid Flash's help in this issue. For all of his speed, patrolling the entire globe is still a massive job along with all the other responsibilities in his life. It's also just a cool way for Wally and Wallace to finally connect more than they ever have before . While Superman will always be one of DC's most impressive heroes, it's hard to deny that the Flash isn't just as important .
