But Willie Nelson’s discography is a universe unto itself. While I never go more than a week without playing something of Nelson’s, I’d never really immersed myself fully in it for a long duration.
For those unfamiliar with his discography, discussing albums feels a little like a 20th century construct. But considering he continues to issue new recordings every year, I’m simply going with the format he’s chosen.These five albums are the cornerstone of pretty much any rudimentary appreciation of Nelson’s work.Widely considered Nelson’s finest album for good reason. The slow stuff is devastating.
