The Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railway is the first ride starring Mickey Mouse to open at Disney World Orlando.
Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway will open at Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida today.
In the first ride starring Mickey and Minnie, guests will enter the recreation of the Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, which has been a part of the park since its opening in 1989. While the Chinese Theatre at Hollywood Studios used to be the entrance to The Great Movie Ride, it has been closed since 2017 in anticipation of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway.
But today, guests at Hollywood Studios will join Mickey and Minnie on a runaway train adventure. Upon arriving at the Chinese Theatre, guests will watch Mickey and Minnie embark on a journey in a movie short titledThey pass Goofy driving a train, and bump into Pluto, who causes cartoon chaos to erupt. Eventually, the screen explodes and guests are invited to walk through the newly-formed passage and board Goofy's train.
