While Nexon has been praised for listening to community feedback and implementing changes in The First Descendant, one controversial system remains unaddressed: the dye/paint system. Players have criticized its inconsistency and monetization model since launch.
The First Descendant is a brilliant game, and developer Nexon deserve their flowers for how they have listened to the community on many occasions. A lot of developers simply buckle down and block out the noise, but Nexon have significantly changed the game to cater to the wants of the community. This deserves applause, but The First Descendant developer still hasn’t fixed a controversial system that has been “ripping people off” since day one of the game’s launch.
When applying dye to a character’s skin, the preview happens in a menu where the lighting is completely different to in-game against a blank background. Here dyes such as white look bright and sleek, but then returning to the game it looks completely different. There are numerous examples of the above sentiment, but the most recent comes courtesy of Reddit user, Retired_Ela_Main. Their post complains about the bad color inconsistency, and the post comes with screenshots as evidence.
