Forget about flaunting its new fall lineup.

“Our outstanding performance continued through the first quarter of fiscal 2023, driven by the incredible reception to our spring and summer product,” said CEO Jennifer Wong, who was appointed to the position in May. The company, founded in 1984, reported a whopping 81 per cent year-over-year revenue growth from its operations in the U.S., where it plans to open seven to nine stores during the 2023 fiscal year, according to RBC analyst Irene Nattel.

Barring a return of pandemic restrictions, Aritzia’s brick-and-mortar operations should perform exceedingly well heading into the holiday season — potentially the first fully in-person since 2019, Winder said.In the retail industry, perhaps nothing screams Canadiana more than Roots’ iconic beaver logo.

Roots’ latest financial results can’t compare with Aritzia’s, but are still respectable. In April, the retailer reported its fourth consecutive quarter of year-over-year top-line growth.
