“Ozempic works by controlling the hunger cravings,” Shah said. “But since the center is the same in the brain for hunger and addiction, it seems like incidentally it also is stopping those cravings.” “They just report an overall decreased intake, which means less food, less water, less any drive to take things in,” she said. “So I suppose the alcohol portion could be part of that as well because they’re just taking in less.”
