Shimmy over to Hula Hut in Little Elm for a taste of the beloved Austin restaurant, closer to home. Both restaurants look out over the water, and both serve Tex-Mex-Polynesian food. The Little Elm location is just newer and a little shinier than the Austin original. For a break from reality, grab a seat out on the pier, where servers say they’re on “island time” — which means you’re free to get another margarita.
Is there a better place to let your kids play in North Texas? Possibly not. The Stix is a kids’ wonderland — baseball diamond! sticks to throw! a playhouse! — with a big porch and grassy area where parents can eat and drink, keeping one good eye out for the kids.
