If you've been putting off deep-cleaning your wooden utensils, now's the time to do it - but be prepared for some 'gross' results
Wooden spoons are one of those kitchen items that you probably don't think too much about deep-cleaning, often just giving them a scrub under the tap once you're finished cooking. But they need a bit of extra care thanks to the absorbent material that can harbour food debris, dirt and grime if they aren't properly cleaned every once in a while.
The Mirror reports that Lulaboo Jenkins, who posts on the video app as @lulabookjenkins, made a short clip in response to @kimmyskreations, who shared a clip submerging her dirty wooden spoons into a pot of boiling water. She held some of her oldest spoons up to the camera, saying she was "scared for what comes out." After she removed the spoons from of the boiling water, she was disgusted to see that she couldn't even see the bottom of the glass pan.
