Some building experts believe it is likely that RAAC was used in homes built between the 1950s and 1990s, in particular council housing
have been ordered by the Government to fully or partially close due to safety fears, following the recent collapse of a beam previously considered safe.
It is aerated and less durable than standard concrete, and can be susceptible to structural failure when exposed to moisture.
