A behind-the-scenes image from The Book of Boba Fett episode 5, “Return of the Mandalorian,” seemingly confirms Pedro Pascal was not on set for the Disney+ series. The latest Star Wars series simultaneously follows the eponymous bounty hunter after the events of Return of the Jedi and after The Mandalorian season 2 as he seizes control of Jabba the Hutt’s old territories on Tatooine.
Following the events of The Mandalorian season 2 and that memorable goodbye, Chapter 5 of The Book of Boba Fett saw Din collect a bounty, reunite with the remaining members of the Watch, forge chainmail for Grogu, wield the Darksaber, and acquire a N-1 starfighter from Peli Motto on Tatooine.
Filming for The Mandalorian season 3 reportedly began late last year without Pascal on set. In The Book of Boba Fett finale, Din and Grogu reunited, with the latter choosing his surrogate father over training to be a Jedi under Luke Skywalker. The pair left Tatooine and are likely headed to Mandalore, where Din hopes to redeem himself for removing his helmet and/or lead his people with the Darksaber.
