Shine Talent Group founders Emily Ward and Jess Hunichen have created an annual conference called The BodCon to encourage radical self-acceptance. It will take place on February 27 this year. Social media influencers including Iskra Lawrence will share a message of body positivity.

The former editor-in-chief ofThe BodCon’s second-annual $10,000 Impact Grant sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada will help someone create their own self-love, body confidence venture. The grant winner will be announced during the event. Last year,The BodCon 2022 aims to promote body positivity.

“Getting to watch people actually change the way they see their bodies, and to see their mindsets shift, is extremely powerful,” they say. “While we are definitely not experts in the body confidence space, it has been a real privilege to build this platform that gives a voice to people who’ve not had one in the past.”

And while Covid has presented challenges, the founders feel that taking The BodCon virtual has made it more accessible for people on a global scale. Also, they’ve been able to cover more sensitive subject matter, given that people are participating from home where they feel safe. To those looking to tap into their life purpose, Ward and Hunichen say, “Looking back on our career paths, we can both see how our passions led up to acquiring the special skill set that we use to run Shine Talent Group and The BodCon.
