At her home, there is a borehole to mitigate the water supply challenges, but the cellphone signal is an absolute nightmare for her: “The neighbours are more friendly. It is a community. What I do not like, however, is the hard labour that comes with being home — having to take care of the cattle and the plantations. The day starts early. It’s the norm to wake up at 5am.”
