Jason Glushon learned about the existence of sports agents the way that most people did: He saw the 1996 movie “Jerry Maguire.” It would be a long time before he would become a sports agent himself. He was still in elementary school.
But it wasn’t as if Mr. Glushon admired Tom Cruise so much that he decided on the spot that he’d found his future profession. The first thing he wanted to be was a professional athlete—and he came much closer than most agents.
