issued a cold front alert

The cold front will likely bring heavy rainfall and strong northeast winds that could lead to possible power outages and extreme high tides. "A powerful low pressure system passing north of the area will generate a large north swell that will build tonight, with the peak of the swell potentially coinciding with extreme high tides on Thursday and Friday mornings," the weather service alert said."Homeowners, beachgoers and boaters should prepare for the potential for high surf and significant wave run-up along exposed north facing shores.
Thursday was expected to have a week-over-week temperature drop of almost 10 degrees, with a forecast high of 77 degrees on Thanksgiving and a low of 68,The weather service said strong winds could make it difficult to drive, especially for high-profile vehicles, and the entirety of the state was expected to be impacted.
"Forecast confidence remains high that most areas around the state will be impacted by the strong and gusty northeast winds," the alert stated.
