Having suggested that he would like to see Dan ‘Dance’ Malesela added to the Orlando Pirates technical team, club legend Thabo Mngomeni points out what he believes is keeping Orlando Pirates from achieving success.
After being knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Malesela’s Marumo Gallants on Wednesday, Pirates are at risk of finishing the season without a trophy as Mamelodi Sundowns appear to be on course to defend their league title once again this season, although Bucs still have the CAF Confederation Cup to fight for.When the Soweto giants won the MTN8 last season under Josef Zinnbauer, the team had last won a trophy over six years prior.
“I am sure that Pirates players would be motivated to see the club’s former players around them from time to time and that would help them to improve their performances. We have seen coaches coming from different countries around the world but there has been no noticeable improvement when it comes to the results. Maybe, China is one of the few countries we haven’t had a coach from over the years, otherwise they have been coming from all over the world,” said Mngomeni.
