For more than a decade, Engelbrecht, an election-fraud crusader, has sown doubts about ballots and voting.The Texas-based nonprofit True the Vote has long claimed to be a champion of election integrity as it, drawing support from former President Donald Trump and other prominent Republicans and raking in millions in donations along the way.
It’s the latest trouble for True the Vote, a Houston non-profit that has become one of the nation’s most prominent pushers of election fraud. The group and its founders have also been accused of misusing donations, including millions given by a North Carolina businessman who later sued saying the group did not follow through on its promise to use the cash to uncover evidence of election fraud.
It alleges that True the Vote broke multiple state and federal laws as its leaders purported to have hacked into Konnech’s computers, which Phillips“We went and met at a hotel room, towels under the doors,” Phillips said, describing a “weird” Friday-night rendezvous with his “guys” in Dallas. “They proceeded to show me everything. They showed me the database.”
“This order is not aimed at all the horrible, nasty things they’ve been saying about the company that the company says are untrue,” Schulz said. “The order is narrowly focused on the allegation they obtained a lot of very sensitive personal information, not even necessarily the company’s, but Social Security numbers and personally identifying information, by breaking into their computer system.
