A teacher at Thompson Elementary was fired Tuesday after Mesquite ISD learned of their alleged racist posts on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter.

An investigation into the teacher’s social media posts began after Mesquite ISD discovered the series of statements on Aug. 7. The morning after, the teacher resigned.
