AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety’s partnership with the Austin Police Department is suspended for the time being, law enforcement reports.Texas DPS troopers won't be patrolling or responding to calls in Austin for the time being. They have been redirected to the Texas-Mexico border following the expiration of Title 42

Austin City Council member Mackenzi Kelly said in a statement that DPS will be welcomed back "as soon as possible" Texas DPS troopers since March 30 have been patrolling the capital in order to offset the effects of a police staffing shortage there.
