Rob Davis' son Mitch passed away due to a mental health emergency on Dec. 7, 2021. Davis, a gamer, felt compelled to do something to help others like his son. The answer was staring him in the face.

PUBLISHED 3:54 PM CDT Jul. 26, 2023“They call me the best boomer in 'COD,'” the 60-year-old said, referring to the video game Call of Duty. “Playing video games isn’t a waste of time, it’s an investment in your mental health,” Davis said in a viral TikTok video with more than 730,000 views.

Mitch Davis was tall, had thick hair, striking blue eyes, and was an athletic tennis player. But he struggled with his mental health. His dad recalls countless hours and sleepless nights through the last year of Mitch’s life. In those conversations, Rob remembers four things his son shared with him. The Davis family pursued every avenue possible to help Mitch, but says they found a system completely overwhelmed by the needs of many who are suffering.

Davis felt compelled to do something to help those individuals. The answer he believed was staring him in the face.
