Mississippi running back Zach Evans and Texas Tech defensive lineman Tony Bradford Jr., a pair of North Shore alumni set to play each other in the Texas Bowl on Wednesday. As teammates at North Shore High School, running back Zach Evans and defensive lineman Tony Bradford Jr. played on a state championship football team. The pair have a mutual respect of each other.
Evans is not lacking confidence. Running for nearly 5,000 yards and 76 touchdowns in high school will bolster one’s self esteem. Ole Miss is trying to get some swagger back after ending its season on a three-game skid. Texas Tech comes in riding a three-game win streak. “I have a real home feeling,” Evans said. “Coming to practice at UH is a good feeling. Just being back in the middle of the city. I love Houston.”
“Special shout out to Coach Kay and all the other coaches that’s been there a long time, and most importantly those kids believing in the process, trusting the coach, and trusting the program,” Bradford said. “To see those guys continue to do great things. …you can’t help but be proud of those guys.”
