A Tesla driver is suspected of driving under the influence and speeding in a fiery crash in Garden Grove that left one person dead.
One person was killed and two others were hurt in a fiery three-car crash involving a Tesla in Garden Grove.
The crash happened at Magnolia Street and Garden Grove Boulevard early Friday morning. When officers arrived at the scene around 1 a.m., they found the gray Tesla sedan engulfed in flames. Officers pulled the driver from the burning car, which was caught on video, and he was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. The passenger in the Tesla was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Garden Grove Police Department, that driver is suspected of speeding and driving under the influence. He is now facing DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges.Authorities said the collision left behind a large debris field, prompting the closure of the intersection for several hours.
