Two terrified Co-op workers were threatened with a knife as a robber made off with cash and cigarettes.
After forcing the staff to open the till, they stole cash and cigarettes before making off. Officers have confirmed that no staff members were physically harmed during the incident, however, they were understandably shaken. Following enquiries, police have since identified and arrested a 60-year-old man from Longridge. He remains in police custody.
"During the incident, the suspect has held a knife towards and threatened two terrified shop workers. Having forced shop workers to open the till the suspect has stolen a quantity of cash and cigarettes from the store before leaving the store.
