TerraceBC Bluebacks narrowly miss victory against Prince Rupert, qualify for championships
Swimmers with the Terrace Bluebacks swim club came up just 150 short of the Prince Rupert Rapids in the final regional meet of the season held in the city on June 10-11.Zion Girard, 13, and Sequoia Wood, 13, qualified for the Northern and Interior Divisional Championships being held in Kelowna on June 24-25 by making their first qualifying time in the 50 freestyle.
Paige Constantinescu, 12, added to her resume with three new divisional times in the 800 free, 200 back and 200 free. She won the silver aggregate in the 11-12 girls age group.Brook-Lynn Meijer, 17, picked up a new Divisional time in the 200 free and new “A” times in the 1500 free, 100 fly, 400 IM and 50 breast. She also won the bronze aggregate in the senior age group.
Xavier Grielens, 11, Thomas Sambo, 12, and Oliver Ungehojer, 17, all won aggregate medals in their age groups. Marie-Aude Choinard, 10, swam best times in all seven of her individual events.
