People have previously said they are scared to leave their houses on Mischief Night
It is perhaps the most dreaded night on the calendar for families across Merseyside. 'Mizzy night' comes the evening before Halloween, and year on year has been taken as an excuse by some to cause chaos among their local communities.
Today, smashed windows, damaged cars and scared neighbours are the norm for Mischief Night. Last year, a nan from St Helens was terrorised by thugs who smashed her windows and spray painted the word 'grass' on her wall and yelled abuse at her when she confronted them. "My windows have been smashed, shop windows have been smashed and it just really makes me upset. I try to look after my home, and people around here have bought their homes, they work hard for them."
