Teko and Mabunda’s new roles at Sundowns clarified

, as he embarks on his first full season as Sundowns chairperson, Tlhopie outlined “three goals for management to achieve”, parts of which will be driven by the club’s former players Teko Modise and Tiyani Mabunda.Modise, who played for the club between 2011 and 2017, is the brand ambassador.

“Being back as a brand ambassador is an exciting journey; the supporters are always thrilled when they can identify with a personality who can relate to them.” Mabunda, meanwhile, has been confirmed as the club’s community ambassador. He is set to “be a bridge between the club and its various communities of supporters”.The 33-year-old will also be involved in the club’s community outreach division, the Mamelodi Sundowns Foundation, which will be launched later this year.Motsepe, who usually keeps a low profile, recently told City Press: “With time, we might see a little bit more of the club being exciting off the field, trying to inspire.

“I am hoping to introduce the sort of element that can leave people more inspired in terms of the game, and I’m very proud of what our marketing team is doing.”
