Max's sister Lauren has set up a fundraiser to get her brother to America with dance troop
A teenager in Greater Manchester is closer than ever to seeing his dream becoming a reality. Max Balcomb, 14, is fundraising with the help of his family to send him, along with his dance troop, to America.
“It is his happy place, and his safe place. He is his true self there, and everybody is so supportive,” she continued: “It hasn't been nice, some kids can be really cruel and he has had his moments where he has wanted to quit, and we have just kept him positive and he has just kept on going.” “I try to make it as cheap as possible for every single parent, as not every parent can afford it, because when you get an opportunity like this you want to make it accessible and possible to everyone,” she added.
And it is the once in a lifetime opportunity, that caught the attention of his 34-year-old sister Lauren Balcomb, will be helping him by covering the costs for Max to fly out to America, as well as setting up a fundraiser for him and the group. Currently on the pathway for ADHD and ASD , he has been a massive inspiration to Lauren she spoke about his determination to get to this point.
With the MCR Dance & Cheer Academy having until April to raise the funds for the competition, they will be doing a wide variety of fundraisers to make sure that everyone goes to America and experiences this wonderful opportunity.
