The youngster has vowed to change her ways
A teenager headbutted a police officer in custody after she was arrested for making racist remarks to a colleague.
She lunged towards one of the officers, who restrained her and said they would take her outside. She called one of the officers a "p*** c***", along with other racist terms, Blackpool Magistrates' Court was told.Smith, of Nesswood Avenue, Blackpool, was taken to Blackpool Police Station, but as she was waiting to be booked in, she headbutted an officer to the side of her face. The officer said: "There was instant reddening to the side of my face, causing instant pain.
The court heard Smith has mental health issues and was not taking medication at the time of the incident in January. She was also using cannabis, Brett Chappell, defending, told the court. Mr Chappell said " a sea change" had taken place in his client since the offence in January and she has worked hard to address what had gone wrong in her life.
