Matthew Daulby died after getting involved in a brawl in Ormskirk
A man who died after being stabbed during a mass street brawl in Ormskirk said he would return to Maghull shortly after setting off to defend his pal.
Within minutes, arrangements were being made to travel to Ormskirk, leaving Matthew's "fuming" girlfriend behind, the court heard. The men met at St Gregory's social club and travelled to Ormskirk.Others in the group messaged: "Everyone come the Gregs". "Going to kill these kids." "Drag them out of any club". "Every man get down now" and "All the lads. Come'd let's go".
Det Con Dave Greenwood talked the jury through CCTV footage which he said showed Cook leaving the ginnel first and walking past the group, exchanging words. As the third man left the ginnel he ran towards the men and a fight broke out.
