Ottawa Fire Services said the teen called at 5:05 p.m. and the first fire apparatus was at the scene four minutes later.The fire was contained to the garage and was under control at 5:26 p.m.
“Due to the quick response, combined with a fast attack, the fire was contained to the garage & did not extend into the home.” OFS said on Twitter.There were no reported injuries.Article content The fire investigator credited the 13 year old for getting their 11 year old sibling & exiting the home & immediately calling 911 when black smoke was visible from the garage preventing a much more serious fire. The fire was under control at 17:26. No reported injuries.
