An independent asset management firm is seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst to join its Operations Technology division. This individual will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery, stability, and ongoing support of the products and systems that underpin the firm's critical operational workflows.

The role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of front-to-back operations, including pre and post-trade execution, settlement, reconciliation processes, and regulatory reporting obligations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the technological infrastructure that supports the firm's asset management activities. This includes ensuring data integrity, system performance, and adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements. This position requires a proactive and solutions-oriented professional capable of taking ownership of projects and initiatives from inception through implementation and ongoing maintenance. The ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including developers, vendors, product owners, and subject matter experts, is essential for success in this role. The Technical Business Analyst will be expected to analyze complex business requirements, translate them into actionable technical specifications, and ensure the seamless integration of new technologies and system enhancements. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving technological landscape are crucial attributes for this position.\The primary responsibilities of the Technical Business Analyst will encompass a wide range of activities. This includes but is not limited to: taking full ownership of the delivery, stability, and support objectives for all Operations Technology products and systems; diligently identifying, gathering, analyzing, and meticulously documenting user stories, converting them into high-level specifications and detailed system designs; applying necessary fixes to applications or data while strictly adhering to established production change standards; collaborating closely with vendors, product owners, and subject matter experts to gain a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end architecture and requirements; effectively coordinating and responding to all testing requirements as needed; and systematically documenting processes to facilitate comprehensive cross-skilling within the team. Furthermore, the analyst will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing integrity and performance of the firm’s data and systems. This includes proactively monitoring system performance, identifying and resolving potential issues, and implementing measures to improve overall system stability and efficiency. The role also involves staying abreast of the latest technological advancements and trends in the financial industry, and recommending innovative solutions to improve operational processes and enhance the firm's competitive advantage. Proficiency in SQL is an absolute requirement for this role, along with at least five years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, with preference given to candidates possessing in-depth knowledge of the asset management industry. Experience with Microsoft Azure, GitHub, Azure DevOps, VS Code, and API calling is also highly valued. A strong interest in developing AI-centric systems and experience with client and regulatory reporting, along with the associated data and controls that underpin these processes, will be viewed favorably. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a strong 'approach and own' mentality and a continuous desire to seek opportunities for professional development and improvement.\To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a relevant degree from an accredited institution. A minimum of five years of experience in business analysis, preferably within the asset management industry, is required. Demonstrated proficiency in SQL is essential for the successful execution of this role, and experience with Microsoft Azure, GitHub, Azure DevOps, VS Code, and API calling is highly desirable. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of data and systems architecture and demonstrate a proven ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into actionable technical specifications. A deep understanding of the financial services industry, particularly asset management, is highly advantageous. Experience with client and regulatory reporting and the underlying data and controls is also highly beneficial. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. They will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Furthermore, the candidate should be detail-oriented, highly organized, and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The ability to proactively identify and resolve problems, coupled with a strong commitment to continuous improvement, is essential.
