Skip Krista McCarville made a come-around draw, facing a Kerry Galusha stone in the back four-foot, to edge the Northwest Territories 5-4 on Tuesday night, improving to 5-1 at the Scotties.
KAMLOOPS, B.C. – Team Northern Ontario is a win away from clinching another playoff spot at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
“The first half of the last end went well until we had an ‘oopsie’ but that’s my job to make that last shot and I did, so I’m thankful for that,” said McCarville. “We have two more tough games and we have to play a little bit better than we did today.” Galusha, who lost a heartbreaker earlier in the day to Manitoba’s Jennifer Jones, sits at 3-3 and will need help to make the playoff round. Jones is tied with McCarville atop Pool B, at 5-1, with Ontario’s Rachel Homan right behind at 3-2.
