Texas-based guitar-pop artist Teal Moss has released a striking animated video for “Day One,” a sludgy, sedated gem from the musician’s recently released debut“Day One” features the funky, frenetic work of NYC-based visual artist Megan Armstrong, and follows an exhausted man in a spaceship throttling through the cosmos and lamenting the time he spent on earth as a farmer.
The lonely universe captured by the animation matches the song’s own forlorn and galactic atmosphere, a feeling that runs throughout the rest of“The song has this overwhelming feeling of isolation and grief but in a productive way, so an old man journeying solo through space felt very fitting,” Steven Fischer of Teal Moss tells. “I knew I wouldn’t have to do or say much and Megan would just get it. I reached out to her and she totally expanded on the idea and exceeded any expectations entirely.
