Ward leaves the game after being hit in the face by a pitch during a 6-1 loss to the Blue Jays, whom they’re chasing for the final wild-card spot
TORONTO — Nothing went right for the Angels with the bases loaded Saturday, but the worst moment of them all was the one in which they actually scored a run.
Ward was hit with one out, but then Mike Moustakas struck out and Matt Thaiss hit a popout. The Angels also left the bases loaded in the second and sixth innings. The Angels scored just two runs in the two games, and losing Ward from the middle of the order certainly won’t help as they try to salvage the final game of the series and regain the momentum they have lost.
