Niall is on record as having been a fan of the song "Lover" since the album was released back in 2019. Thanks to a fan preserving some choice screenshots from Niall's Instagram Story back in August 2019, we can see the singer/songwriter was giving the song some very high praise. Posting a shot of the song playing on his Spotify, Niall wrote about "Lover": "This song is a classic and it's so important for music.
for his sweet comments back then, too, making it clear the appreciation and love these two artists have for one another is as long-lasting as "Lover."
