Offensive coordinator Kelly Jeffrey has received some blame for being too conservative. And sure, some of the play calls could have been more aggressive, but the lack of execution is on Fine, who is getting a chance to become a starter in the CFL after the injury to Trevor Harris.And it showed with a stat line of 31-of-40 completed passes for 278 yards, but only nine points on three field goals.
After the Harris injury, the Riders wasted no time in naming Fine the new starting quarterback. He’s been with the team for three years and is getting the chance he deserves. Now it’s up to him to produce.
