Police need more info
The cyclist was knocked off his bike when the taxi crashed into him as it turned right from Accrington Road towards Liverpool Road in Burnley. The cyclist, 27, had been riding towards Hapton when the crash happened sometime between 11pm and midnight on New Years Eve.
According to Burnley and Padiham Police, the taxi driver and fare stopped briefly but left without providing any details. Officers are now trying to find that driver, who was in a white Skoda.A public appeal for information is now under way with police also hoping for dashcam footage to be submitted. A police spokesperson said: "We are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
"Similarly, if you have any dash cam footage of this in incident then please make contact. We are also appealing to the driver of the car to come forward." Anyone with information is asked to email [email protected] or call 101 quoting incident reference 0115 of January 1.
