Reigning champions Al Ahly advanced to the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League after defeating Simba SC 3-0 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.South African forward Percy Tau was named on the bench as coach Marcel Koller opted to start Anthony Modeste in the attack for the second leg.
Neither side would be able to find the breakthrough in the first half, much to the disappointment of the Tanzanian giants who desperately needed to get on the score-sheet. The hosts had to wait until second-half stoppage time for another goal after being awarded a penalty, which Kahraba converted for his second goal in the tie.
