Tau roars atop the pyramid of Egypt’s top goal scorers’ charts

The talented striker is certainly enjoying his football again following a four-year spell in Europe which was littered with mixed fortunes.

“For me, it was a stage in my life when I needed to look after myself. I needed a four-year contract and I was on a one-year contract [remaining at Brighton]. That on its own tells you why I joined Al Ahly,” Tau told City Press last week in Ghana where he was with Bafana Bafana. He and his team-mates’ next official match is more than two weeks away as the Egyptian league is in recess for the Arab Cup that involves north Africa powerhouses Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria.Meanwhile, Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane said he was also understanding the Egyptian league more and “slowly learning”.

“I’ve only been here for 13 months, give me time and the team will play the way I want,” he was quoted as saying by Egypt’s online publication Kingfut.
