A young Nate pictured with his dad Cecil after a Titans' hockey banquet. In talking about Nate’s artistic talents, Cecil said he would make balloon animals for kids attending the Tatamagouche Farmers’ Market while still a kid himself. - Contributed “Cecil is a big hockey fan, Nate is a referee here, so I thought a hockey game,” said Mindy MacDonald, one of the organizers. “We’ve done benefit games in the past, so we thought of the game. We were trying to keep it pretty small, but it seems to have snowballed into something much bigger.”
“The thing about Tatamagouche is, when someone does need anything, there are a phenomenal amount of people who rush to support. I think when our little group first said what are we going to do to support this family – do we want to have a hockey game? There was no hesitation, no questions; it was, let’s just figure out what to do and get it in the works.”
Along with his athletic endeavours, Nate MacLeod is known around the Tatamagouche area as an incredible young artist. - Contributed
